Saint of the week: Saint Anthony the Abbot
Saint Anthony the Abbot's feast day is on January 17th. He was born in 251 in Egypt and died in 356. He was called the Patriarch of the Monks and lived in the desert since he was 18. He is known as the founder and father of organized Christian monasticism. He is the patron saint of many things such as domestic animals, grave diggers, Monks, against epilepsy, against eczema, hermits, pigs, and swineherds.
